Battery Information

Here are some things you can do to maximize battery life:

  1. Record video at lower frame rates and resolutions.
  2. Enable auto power off.
  3. Charge QooCam EGO when the battery level is low. Storing QooCam EGO for more than four months with a low battery will reduce the battery life. Charge and discharge the battery of QooCam EGO to 40%-60% if it will not be used for 10 days or more.
  4. QooCam EGO can be charged with an external USB power supply during use.
Note

Even though your camera is charging by USB cable, the battery will not charge during recording but only supply power to the camera.

Battery Maintenance

  1. Extreme temperatures may temporarily shorten battery life or cause your camera to temporarily stop working properly. Avoid dramatic temperature or humidity changes as condensation may form on or within the camera.
  2. Do not dry your camera with an external heat source such as a microwave oven or a hair dryer. Damage to the camera or battery caused by contact with the liquid inside the camera is not covered under the warranty.
  3. Do not store your battery with metal objects like coins, keys, or necklaces. If the battery terminals come in contact with metal objects, this may cause a fire.
Note

Batteries have reduced capacity in cold weather. This affects older batteries even more. If you regularly shoot at low temperatures, replace batteries yearly for optimal performance.

Battery Disposal

Most rechargeable lithium-ion batteries are classified as non-hazardous waste and are safe for disposal in the normal municipal waste stream. To safely dispose of lithium-ion batteries, protect terminals from exposure to other metal with packing, masking, or electrical tape so they do not cause a fire while being transported.
